It’s national championship day, and the final game of this year’s NCAA Tournament is one that is sure to be back and forth from the opening tip.
No. 2 Villanova has gotten back to the title game for the first time since 1985, a year in which it won a national championship, and their new, slower-paced offense is a far cry from the pure run-and-gun squads that saw the Wildcats exit early from multiple tournaments in the past.
Standing in Villanova’s way are the No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels, a team stacked with upperclassmen with one common goal: to win it all. UNC has already won two national championships under Hall of Fame coach Roy Williams and with a roster as strong as this season’s, it’s hard to imagine the Tar Heels not walking out the winners.
But as this year’s NCAA Tournament has taught us, expect the unexpected. Let’s dig a little deeper and pick a winner for tonight’s game!
