UNC mascot, Rameses, gets sucker-punched after game

Monday night’s national championship game was one of the best games any basketball fans have seen in a very long time as Kris Jenkins sunk a buzzer-beating three-point shot to give the Villanova Wildcats the win.

Just seconds after that shot, there seemed to be some scuffle with the North Carolina mascot, Rameses.

He seemed to be getting rushed off the court after the shot went down and he didn’t seem to like being hurried off so forcefully. In the video below, you can see that it looks like someone punched Rameses and he went down rather hard.

From the video, it looks like he was possibly punched by a North Carolina student or possibly a male cheerleader. This certainly looks like it could have been out of frustration from the student section, but there is still no reason for the attack on the mascot.

It will be interesting to see if anything comes out of this situation.
