The Villanova Wildcats are your 2016 NCAA Tournament Champions and will be rewarded in a manner other than t-shirts, hats and a trophy. According to a tweet from the magazine itself, Villanova forward Kris Jenkins’ game-winning three will be on the cover of this week’s issue of Sports Illustrated.

It’s only right that Jenkins’ shot make the cover of Sports Illustrated, and for multiple reasons. First, college basketball season is officially over and Villanova doesn’t have to worry about falling victim to the famous SI Jinx (Come on fans, you know it actually exists).
On top of that, Jenkins’ shot is arguably the best in NCAA Tournament history since Christian Laettner’s game-winner against Kentucky in the 1992 Elite Eight. The fact that it came right after North Carolina point guard Marcus Paige tied the game with a crazy three of his own only adds to the magic.
Jenkins’ shot truly was the one shining moment of this year’s NCAA Tournament, so it absolutely deserves to be on the SI cover.
