The Florida State Seminoles were looking to be on the rise in the ACC when it comes to basketball. However, it looks like they could have some rebuilding to do as their third player, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, just declared for the NBA Draft.
It was reported on Wednesday that Rathan-Mayes declared for the draft but did not hire an agent.
It seems like the 6-foot-4 sophomore is taking advantage of the rule to participate in draft camp, but still have the possibility to return to school by May 25.
Rathan-Mayes averaged 11.8 points and 4.4 assists per game this year and helped lead the Seminoles to a 20-14 record with an appearance in the second round of the NIT. Last season, he became the first freshman in ACC history to score 30 points or more in three games.
Currently, Xavier Rathan-Mayes is the third Florida State player to declared for the NBA Draft, joining freshmen Malik Beasley and Dwayne Bacon. However, the Seminoles got a little good news when Bacon withdrew his name from consideration after further conversation with his family.
