Barack Obama impressed by Kris Jenkins’ game-winner

Now that the Villanova Wildcats men’s basketball team has won a championship, it can now put itself in the exclusive club of a team that has received a congratulatory phone call from President Barack Obama, a known basketball fan who appeared to enjoy junior Kris Jenkins’ game-winning three immensely.

Sure enough, President Obama called coach Jay Wright yesterday to offer his congratulations and shared his own opinion on Jenkins’ game-winner. Of course, video of the call was posted to The White House’s official Facebook page.

It just goes to show that when push comes to shove, our President of the United States Barack Obama is just a regular guy like everyone else. He loves his family, America, and basketball. The fact that he was able to be so down to earth about it despite being a known North Carolina fan was classy, so Villanova’s trip to the White House in the near future should be one for the ages.
