NFL Draft 2016: Titans say interest in No. 1 pick has ‘increased’

Tennessee Titans GM Jon Robinson has said that trade interest for the No. 1 overall draft pick that Tennessee holds in this year’s NFL Draft has “increased,” according to a report from John Glennon of The Tennessean.

“I would say that with each day we inch closer to the draft, the discussions probably become a little bit more serious, if you will,” Robinson said. “That’s something we’re going back and forth with. Do we stay put with where we’re at, or do we really entertain the thought of moving? I would say the interest has increased some. I wouldn’t say there are 31 teams calling, but there are certainly teams that have interest in moving up.”

There are plenty of prospects at the top of the draft that certain teams would love to trade up to land, but Tennessee holds all the cards here. Thus, if Robinson wants to trade the pick at all, best for him to wait until Draft Day is closer and build up the value as much as he can.

And even if Robinson opts to keep the pick, there’s no telling who the Titans will select in the NFL Draft. They could take Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil and give quarterback Marcus Mariota some protection, they could shore up the secondary with Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey, or they could add some size up front in taking Ohio State’s Joey Bosa. The possibilities are endless.
