Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has said that quarterback Sean Maguire could be back at 100 percent health by June as he continues to work his way back from a broken ankle.
“He’s about 60 to 70 percent on conditioning and putting weight on it,” Fisher said, per Brendan Sonnone of The Orlando Sentinel. Fisher also said that come June, Maguire would be back at “full speed.”
A former four-star recruit from West Orange, New Jersey, just a stone’s throw away from New York City, Maguire started six games for the Seminoles last season and completed 59.3 percent of his passes for 1,520 yards and 11 touchdowns. He fractured his ankle in Florida State’s 38-24 loss to the AAC’s Houston Cougars in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, a game in which he threw for 392 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions and returned to play in the game after suffering the injury initially.
