Johnny Manziel wants to play for Denver Broncos

Troubled quarterback Johnny Manziel just hasn’t gotten the message, having told TMZ reporters yesterday that he wants to play for the Denver Broncos.

Video of Manziel’s brief exchange may be seen below.

It jus so happens that Manziel, who was cut by the Cleveland Browns last month, was seen entering a nightclub with two beautiful young ladies later in the evening and was also caught on video drinking champagne straight from the bottle. Given how he was released from Cleveland for his inability to tone down the partying, having shown up to practice drunk and/or hung over on more than one occasion, not many NFL teams are going to take a chance on the former first-round pick.

And what’s all the more heartbreaking is that Manziel could indeed revive his career in Denver, having spoken with Broncos coach Gary Kubiak recently. There is an established receiving corps in place and he could be a solid fit in Kubiak’s zone-blocking offense, especially with how badly Denver needs a quarterback following the departures of Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler.

But until Manziel seeks help for what is clearly a serious drinking problem, not to mention deals with the domestic violence case pending against him in Dallas, odds are greater than none that he will remain unemployed.
