Video: High school soccer goalie obliterates opponent with Cheap Shot of the Year

|

During a fierce competition, there are times that frustrations and tempers can boil over. However, for one high school soccer goalie in North Carolina, the frustration resulted in one of the biggest cheap shots you will see all year.

Pine Forest (N.C.) High School keeper Cassie Sturtz received a two-game ban for obliterating an opponent with a vicious tackle.

Sturtz and Pine Forest were on their way to a 4-1 loss to Pinecrest earlier this week when she decided to speed out of the box to deliver a flying blow to Pinecrest Riley Barrett.

Miraculously, because Barrett was ruled offside and the incident occurred outside of the box, no penalty was called.

However, after reviewing the play in question, it was determined that Sturtz would receive her suspension for good reason.
