The Los Angeles Rams lost Janoris Jenkins to the New York Giants in free agency, so they certainly need to address that hole in the secondary. While he might not be a cornerback, they could be looking at bringing veteran safety Donte Whitner in for a visit.
NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk reported on Twitter that Whitner is set to visit the Rams later on this week. This could be a good move for the Rams as Whitner is pretty familiar with the NFC West.
Free-agent S Donte Whitner is visiting the Rams, per source with knowledge of the situation.

He has spent 10 years in the league, playing three with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2013. He has recorded 11 interceptions during his time in the league after being a first round selection of the Buffalo Bills in the 2006 NFL Draft.
Nothing is set in stone just yet, but Donte Whitner certainly seems to be close to making his return to the West Coast in the very near future.
