Bryan Sperry is a proud Kansas alum and 90 years young, and proved to everyone that he can still step on the gridiron and enjoy some time with the pigskin while appearing younger than his actual years.
Sure enough, Sperry took part in Kansas’ alumni game this weekend and caught a touchdown pass for the second season in a row. Check out video of Sperry’s highlight below!
Sperry obviously can’t run as well anymore, nor can he block effectively due to his advanced age, but the fact that he is still able to throw a jersey on and find a way to enjoy a game of flag football is inspiring, even if he can only speed-walk to the end zone rather than sprint.
Sperry is a beloved member of the Kansas community, having played with the Jayhawks after returning home from World War II and even catching a pass in the 1948 Orange Bowl. Clearly, he cherishes his time in Lawrence as well.
