Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones is preparing for the NFL Draft later this month, but that didn’t stop him from going on Twitter today to rip the NCAA and offer his opinion on how it treats student-athletes.
I'm so happy to be done with the @NCAA and their rules & regulation. They do any & everything to exploited collegiate athletes.
— Cardale Jones (@CJ1two) April 11, 2016
Just what triggered Jones’ tweet is a mystery, but it must be in response to the new recruiting rules put in place by the association, the most notable of which is the banning of satellite camps, and coaches can now have unlimited contact with recruits via text message.
But Cardale Jones is also the same man who notably tweeted back in 2012 that attending class was pointless, since he apparently thought he was just in school to play football, so his words should definitely be taken with at least a tiny grain of salt.
However, with the growing animosity towards the NCAA about these rule changes, it’s not at all going to be shocking to see some more progressive changes happening somewhere down the road.
