There is a “growing sense” that the Dallas Cowboys could be targeting a quarterback with the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft later this month, according to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report.
Cole cited the Cowboys’ reasoning being the likelihood of Dallas being that high in the draft again soon to be low, and odds are greater than none that Jerry Jones would select either Cal’s Jared Goff or North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz, basically whomever the Cleveland Browns opt not to take with the No. 2 pick.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that either Wentz or Goff will be available at the Cowboys’ turn. The Tennessee Titans reportedly have a big offer on the table for the No. 1 overall pick, and odds are greater than none that if a team does trade up to No. 1, it will be to draft a quarterback.
