Drake Johnson run over by forklift while working out

Michigan running back Drake Johnson can now add his name to the odd injuries annals. According to tweets from Wolverines beat reporter Derick Hutchinson, Johnson was run over by a forklift while stretching at Michigan’s indoor track building.

Guy said Johnson was "stretching with headphones and the forklift had something on it that was blocking their vision." #Michigan

I'm told Michigan RB Drake Johnson WAS seen at the hospital today. Guy who says he saw him said he was hit by forklift while stretching.

Michigan did indeed confirm that Johnson was involved in some incident at the track, but would not speak to the nature of what happened, nor his injuries, according to Angelique S. Changelis of The Detroit News.

Statement from UM confirms Drake Johnson involved in an accident at indoor track bldg and was referred to UM health system for evaluation.

Fortunately, Johnson himself tweeted out that he is OK.

All I can say is thank god.

This is not the first time that Johnson has dealt with injuries. He has torn his ACL twice, once in the 2013 season opener and the same in the 2014 finale against Ohio State. Johnson came back last year and appeared in 10 games, one of which he started, but managed just 271 yards despite four touchdowns.

Hopefully, whatever happened with the forklift does not keep him out for an extended period of time.
