Eastern Kentucky edge rusher Noah Spence visited with the Houston Texans yesterday, according to Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle.
Wilson also added that Spence visited with the Washington Redskins this week and has a meeting with the New Orleans Saints today.
And Spence could wind up being a very nice fit on the Texans’ defensive line, especially on the edge opposite star defensive end J.J. Watt. He has his fair share of red flags, having battled drug problems that got him dismissed from Ohio State, but revitalized himself enough at EKU that he at least has a shot at being a second-round pick, or maybe a late first-rounder.
He has the size at 6-foot-3, 261 pounds and given how Houston got shellacked in the playoffs 30-0 by the Kansas City Chiefs last season, upping the pass-rush needs to be a priority at some point in this NFL Draft. Given Spence’s skill, he could wind up being a great fit in coach Bill O’Brien’s system.
