UFC to make New York debut November 12

It has been just a few weeks since the New York house of representatives passed the legalization of mixed martial arts in the state. The UFC took quick advantage of this legalization and they will be making their debut later this year.

On Thursday, the UFC will announced the promotion host its first event in New York City on November 12. The event will take place at Madison Square Garden, quite possibly the most legendary building in the state.

UFC president Dana White has already discussed the possibility of former UFC bantamweight women’s champion Ronda Rousey making her return to the Octagon in November. There are also a number of other stars linked to the landmark event.

The only thing the UFC needs to come out and say now is that former middleweight champion Chris Weidman will be fighting in the company’s New York debut. The Long Island native has long been awaiting for the sport to be legalized in his home state.
