Clemson defensive back T.J. Green’s draft stock is “soaring,” according to NFL.com draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah. In his latest mock draft, Jeremiah predicted Green to go to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 30 and to play cornerback.
The former four-star recruit from Alabama played safety at Clemson, but has the size for corner at 6-foot-2.5, 209 pounds. In three years with the Tigers, he had 118 tackles to go with one interception and three pass breakups. Those numbers may not scream top corner, but he is an excellent athlete with enough speed to keep up with top receivers.
And though Green may be considered a reach in the first-round, he is definitely one who could be snagged in the second round. He was instrumental in helping Clemson reach the national championship game last season and though the Tigers lost to Alabama, Green’s contributions on defense throughout 2015 are undeniable.
