Ohio State announces spring game rosters

The Ohio State Buckeyes have announced their rosters for Saturday’s spring game, which is expected to draw over 100,000 fans.

Junior quarterback J.T. Barrett will start for the Scarlet team, which will be coached by first-year defensive coordinator Greg Schiano. The Gray team will be quarterbacked by former four-star recruit Joe Burrow and coached by running backs coach Tony Alford.

The game is set to be broadcast on Big Ten Network at 1:30 p.m. and though the game itself is a glorified scrimmage, this could be a clear window in terms of what to expect from Ohio State in 2016. Though Barrett is a key returning player, star running back Ezekiel Elliott, offensive lineman Taylor Decker and many other key Buckeyes from last year are expected to be picked in the NFL Draft in just a couple of weeks.

That said, the spring game could provide a glance as to how each departing player’s potential successor could look as Ohio State prepares to compete for another national championship.
