NFL Draft 2016: Rams to meet with Jared Goff and Carson Wentz

The Los Angeles Rams now own the first overall pick in the NFL Draft and are definitely taking a quarterback, barring a major swerve, and ESPN is reporting that team management will meet with both California’s Jared Goff and North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz ahead of the draft later this month.

Per Adam Schefter, the Rams are leaning towards Goff, but meeting with both is still a good idea. Though GM Les Snead already has an idea of who he thinks is the best fit for the roster, it’s best for him to do his due diligence on Wentz just in case something comes up in Goff’s interview that raises a red flag.

And after these meetings take place, anything is possible. Maybe the Rams will roll with Goff as planned. Maybe they’ll change their minds and roll with Wentz. Maybe another shocking trade will happen.
