Alabama’s spring game trumps ratings NHL Playoff games

This weekend in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Spring Game attendance reached a substantial 76, 212 spectators. But millions of Crimson Tide supporters who didn’t make it to Bryant-Denney Stadium on Saturday still tuned in to watch their Alabama team play.

The Crimson Tide’s Spring Game produced better ratings than all but two NHL playoff games. Move over, hockey.

Per Austin Karp of SportsBusiness Daily, the Tide’s Spring Game aired by ESPN received more views than six out of the eight NHL Playoff games this past weekend. The two games on NBC (Blue vs. Blackhawks and Rangers vs. Penguins) were the only of the NHL games to end up with higher ratings than the ‘Bama Spring Game.

It’s safe to say the Crimson Tide fans love their football.
