Longtime NFL cornerback Antonio Cromartie recently caught up with TMZ after his 32nd birthday party at New York City’s American Cut steakhouse and said that he wanted to continue his playing career next season with the Dallas Cowboys.
“My dream choice? That’d be the Dallas Cowboys,” Cromartie said. “That’s very high on my list.”
There’s no doubt that the Cowboys need help at corner and Cromartie would bring some much-heralded veteran experience to the position, but let’s not forget that was disappointing for the New York Jets last season, posting just 29 tackles and 12 pass breakups in 15 games.
Despite that, the man is still a four-time Pro Bowler and has proven to be fantastic at what he does when healthy. Even if Dallas does end up drafting Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey with the No. 4 pick next week, bringing Cromartie aboard on a one-year deal could wind up being a good move so that the youngster may be shown the ropes.
