The Baltimore Ravens have officially signed running back Trent Richardson, according to a tweet from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.
The #Ravens have officially signed RB Trent Richardson, who gets another shot with a team with some opportunities at the position.

Richardson sat out all of last year after being cut by the Oakland Raiders during the preseason. He was drafted third overall out of Alabama by the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 NFL Draft and ran for 950 yards and 11 touchdowns as a rookie, but has done little to nothing since then.
Richardson was traded to the Indianapolis Colts just a couple of weeks into his sophomore NFL season and has managed just 1,082 yards and six touchdowns since 2013. He has since come out and stated that he was distracted the past couple of years because of friends and family constantly needling him for money, but that he has cut those people out of his life and is ready to turn his career around.
And it will be hard to not root for Trent Richardson to blaze a comeback trail. He turns 26 years old this summer and still has a shot at rebuilding his career, especially after showing such promise as a rookie.
