Ex-Florida Gators cornerback Deiondre Porter was arrested last night in Hillsborough County on charges related to an armed robbery case, according to Matt Barker of The Tampa Bay Times.
Little details surrounding the arrest have been released, but this is not the first time that Porter has been in trouble with the law. He was arrested back in October for firing a gun near his then-pregnant girlfriend and is currently facing four felony charges in that case, which remains open.
The October arrest led to Porter being indefinitely suspended from Florida’s football team, and the redshirt freshman is no longer listed on the Gators’ roster.
And in light of this most recent arrest, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Porter dismissed from the university outright. The former three-star recruit hasn’t done much in terms of redeeming himself since the October arrest and given coach Jim McElwain’s low tolerance for shenanigans, any time he has left with the program is borrowed.
