UNLV regents to discuss Marvin Menzies’ five-year contract

The UNLV Rebels were left high and dry when Chris Beard left his position as head coach for the same job at Texas Tech just one week after accepting the job in Vegas. However, the Rebels have been moving fast and already have identified a replacement.

UNLV offered a five-year, $3.7 million contract to Marvin Menzies.

Under the terms of his new contract, Menzies would be set to make $700,000 in the first three years of the deal. In the final two years of the proposed contract, Menzies would be slated to make $800,000.

According to the Nevada Board of Regents, Menzies has agreed to the terms of the deal. NBC Sports added the Board of Regents will meet regarding the agreement on Friday.

Menzies previously served as head coach at New Mexico State.
