When it comes to LSU starting offensive guard Will Clapp, he just can’t seem to catch a break with injuries. He has been dealing with a sports hernia for some time and now he is scheduled to have hip surgery in the near future.
Ross Dellenger of the Baton Rouge Advocate reported the new Tuesday night saying that head coach Les Miles had confirmed the news of the labrum injury in his hip. He is slated for surgery on Thursday and will likely undergo surgery to repair his hernia as well.
Tiger fans should not worry too much as of right now, despite the news of a starting offensive lineman undergoing two surgeries simultaneously. Clapp should be back on the field and healthy in time for training camp in August.
As a redshirt freshman in 2015, Will Clapp played a big part of the offensive line for LSU. He started 11 games, 10 on the right side and one of the left.
If running back Leonard Fournette is going to have another Heisman Trophy-type season in 2016, he is going to need to have his offensive line at full strength.
