NFL Draft 2016: Paxton Lynch to reap benefits of Eagles’ trade?

The Philadelphia Eagles have just acquired the No. 2 overall pick from the Cleveland Browns in next week’s NFL Draft, and nobody could be benefitting more from that than draft prospect and Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch, according to Lance Zierlein of NFL Network.

“I think Paxton Lynch is a big, big winner today with this move,” Zierlein said appearing on television. “If you’re sitting at No. 19 or 20 and you thought you had a shot, forget about it. You’re going to have to trade up to get your hands on Paxton Lynch.”

This is certainly an interesting development, as the only team that could really be looking to draft a quarterback immediately after the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia is the San Francisco 49ers at No. 7. The Dallas Cowboys may draft one at No. 4, but Lynch is way too much of a reach at that point. Thus, with quarterback-needy teams like the Buffalo Bills at No. 19, the New York Jets at No. 20, the Houston Texans at No. 22 and the Denver Broncos at the very bottom, trading into the middle of the first round to draft Lynch suddenly becomes a very real possibility.
