Class of 2016 four-star shooting guard and North Carolina signee Brandon Robinson can add a major accomplishment to his resume after being named a National Scholar Athlete, according to a post on his Twitter.

This is a great accomplishment for Robinson, who currently attends Georgia’s Douglas County High School in the Atlanta area. The Tar Heels’ program has been rocked recently by a scandal that alleges phony classes were pushed to student-athletes, ones where a one-page paper was the only work required, and the fact that someone in Robinson who just got an award for being a strong athlete on top of being great in the classroom should help turn down the heat.
Just how much Robinson will play as a freshman under coach Roy Williams remains to be seen but with the strong head he has on his shoulders, don’t be shocked if he fights his way into the starting five.
