With his relationship with his current team in tatters, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been looking for a landing spot for weeks now. Many presumed early on that Kaepernick would join Gary Kubiak’s Denver Broncos and compete against the likes of Mark Sanchez for the starting spot.
But according to John Elway, that doesn’t seem to be quite as much of a possibility anymore, at least under the current conditions.
On Thursday, Elway described the talks of a trade for the San Francisco quarterback as “dormant”. This doesn’t necessarily mean that having Kaepernick on the team has been totally ruled out though. USA Today’s Lindsay Jones took to twitter to confirm this report:
Elway characterizes status of Kaepernick talks as "dormant." As in: They made an offer, and it's still there.

With the 2016 NFL Draft only a week from now, the clock is ticking for Kaepernick and the Broncos to reach a decision.
