The Cleveland Cavaliers are taking on the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the NBA playoffs, and former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones was in attendance at Quicken Loans Arena for Game 2 last night. Sure enough, the future NFL draft pick led the crowd, probably rife with Buckeyes fans, in a raucous “O-H-I-O” chant.
Video of Jones, who led the chant at midcourt, was posted to Twitter. Check it out below!

Jones is clearly a beloved figure in the state of Ohio, and that isn’t at all surprising. After all, he did take over in 2014 right on the cusp of the inaugural College Football Playoff after J.T. Barrett broke his ankle in the regular season finale against Michigan and then led the No. 4 Buckeyes to wins over Alabama and Oregon to bring the national championship back to Columbus.
Jones also started last season before being benched in favor of Barrett and though his days with the Buckeyes are over, he will always be welcomed with open arms in Ohio.
