It is not very often that you see a fullback get drafted or make a big impact in the NFL anymore, but there is at least one that seems worthy of having his name called next week. That player is former Northwestern fullback Dan Vitale and he is doing a fine job of drawing in some big interest from around the league.
One team that seems to be pretty interested in him is the Tampa Bay Buccanneers. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reported the team’s interest in Vitale early this week.
#Bucs have worked out and shown heavy interest in Northwestern FB Dan Vitale. Could be a day three pick. Had good Sr. Bowl/combine

During his career with the Wildcats, Dan Vitale, a former tight end, found more success in the receiving game. He recorded over 1,400 yards and 11 touchdowns as a receiver.
This is a very important stat to have on your side if you are going to play out of the backfield in the NFL. Vitale is also a big guy that runs hard, much like one of the greatest Buccaneers of all time, Mike Alstott.
Vitale likely won’t hear his name called until Day 3 of the draft, but it would still be a huge honor for the fullback.
