One of the most intriguing storylines leading up to the start of the 2016 NFL Draft is the health of top linebacker Myles Jack’s knee. Jack was medically red-flagged at the NFL Scouting Combine and recently had mixed reviews regarding his medical recheck.
That has led to some speculation that Jack could fall in the first-round of this week’s draft, but it looks like the fall may not last past the top ten.
According to Peter King of MMQB.com, “the Giants think Jack’s knee is OK.”
King wrote, “If it is, New York has the best sideline-to-sideline linebacker in the draft, and that’s been a huge position of need on the Giants defense.”
Jack is widely regarded as one of the top prospects in this year’s class and may believe he is a top three talent. If he does fall to the No. 10 pick because of health concerns, it could be exactly what the Giants need. New York certainly has a need at linebacker, so Jack could be exactly what they’re looking for.
The 2016 NFL Draft kicks off Thursday night in Chicago, with live coverage on ESPN and the NFL Network.
