Joey Bosa won’t be the first first-round pick in his family

Joey Bosa is one of the top talents in the 2016 NFL Draft class and the former Ohio State Buckeyes star knows exactly what it takes to succeed at the next level. As it turns out, Bosa’s family has a long line of players who have gone on to play in the NFL.

In fact, Bosa will not even be the first first-round pick from his family.

Bosa’s father, John, was a standout defensive tackle for Boston College. John Bosa then went on to be the No. 16 overall pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 1987 NFL Draft. Now, his son will look to be out that draft position.

Joey Bosa is expected to hear his name called in the top ten of the draft, with a strong possibility of going in the top five.

On top of Bosa and his father, Bosa’s maternal grandfather, uncle and great uncle all had brief careers at the next level. And if that wasn’t enough, Bosa’s younger brother, Nick, is set to follow in his footsteps at Ohio State with hopes of becoming a first-round pick of his own.

It’s safe to say football is a proud family tradition.
