The 2016 NFL Draft is just a few days away and you can expect a plethora of player rankings and mock drafts over the next few days. For Mike Mayock, he has quarterback Carson Wentz at the top of his list heading into the draft.
Wentz is expected to be one of two players drafted in the top two of Thursday’s first round and he could be the first player taken by the Los Angeles Rams. Mayock released his top 100 prospects for the draft and he had Wentz at the top.
What is interesting about his rankings is that Mayock had Jared Goff, who is expected to go first overall to the Rams and ahead of Wentz, ranked at number 10. He had three other quarterbacks ranked in his top 100 as well.
Here is the top ten of Mayock’s list of players, which can be seen in full at the link above:
1. Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
2. Jalen Ramsey, CB, Florida State
3. Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
4. Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
5. Myles Jack, LB, UCLA
6. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
7. DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon
8. Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State
9. Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
10. Jared Goff, QB, Cal
During his career at North Dakota State, Carson Wentz threw for 5,115 yards and 45 touchdowns while rushing for over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. He certainly has a chance to be the first player taken, but it comes down to what the Rams want to do with the first pick.
