Ohio State’s Joey Bosa is known for making his fair share of bold statements during interviews. But his latest two comments just might top them all.
The projected first-rounder sat down with brobible.com’s Nick Dimengo to answer a few interview questions. When Bosa was asked how he would greet NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell upon finally being drafted into the NFL, he responded in classic fashion, “Tackle him! No, I’m just joking. I think it’ll have to be a spur of the moment kind of thing, but we’ll see, I’ll probably just end up giving him a big hug.”
Bosa was also asked how he felt about his comparison to Houston Texans star defensive player JJ Watt, and if he thought he could live up to it, or even exceed it.
Bosa was flattered to be compared to such a player, and claimed that he wanted to be better than Watt. “Like you said, it’s just more motivation than anything. Just to be mentioned in the same sentence as someone like him, one of the best defensive players right now, that’s something cool,” Bosa said. “I just hope that I can make at least half of the impact he did when I come into the league, and one day I hope I can work my way up to be considered the best at what I do, so, hopefully, I can pass that level.”
Bosa also said during the interview that he hoped to sack New England patriots quarterback, Tom Brady. Going into the draft, Bosa appears to be confident almost to the point of arrogance, and for good reason. The former Buckeye is expected to go in the top five overall tomorrow.
