Robert Nkemdiche won’t ‘fall too far’ in NFL Draft

The NFL Draft stock of former Ole Miss defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche has gone from top tier of the first-round to unknown in wake of a number of off-field issues but according to Kevin Clark of The Ringer, the former five-star talent isn’t going to drop far in the draft as a result.

There’s no doubt that Nkemdiche is indeed great at what he does, as he recorded 81 tackles (16 for a loss) and six sacks in three years with the Rebels. However, he also proved to be something of a problem away from the football field. He fell out of a four-story window of an Atlanta hotel last year and was later charged with marijuana possession, thus drawing a suspension from the Sugar Bowl.

But Clark is right in that a top pass-rusher is always going to be coveted by teams, regardless of situation. Nkemdiche’s odds of being a first-round pick are probably 50-50, but odds are greater than none that his off-field problems will prevent him from being a marquee pick on Day 1.
