Florida State fans worried about losing star defensive back Jalen Ramsey to the NFL Draft can now breathe a sigh of relief, as his potential successor in safety Derwin James appears primed and ready to step into that role in the secondary.
In a video posted to his Instagram, James can be seen going through practice with authority and looking just as strong and athletic as Ramsey. Check it out below!
A former five-star talent from central Florida, James played incredibly well alongside Ramsey last season. He managed 91 tackles and even 4.5 sacks, plus four pass breakups and two forced fumbles, all as a true freshman! He didn’t have any interceptions, but that number could easily grow in 2016.
Simply put, if any FSU fans were worried about the Seminoles taking a step back next season after Ramsey’s departure, all they need to do is look at this video and breathe a sigh of relief.
