NFL Draft 2016: Rams select Jared Goff first overall

There was no questioning that the Los Angeles Rams needed a quarterback, which is the reason why they made the trade to get the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The first round kicked off with a bang when the Rams took Cal quarterback Jared Goff with that pick.

Goff has long been considered the top quarterback available in the draft and many have believed the Rams would take the California native since they made the big trade with the Tennessee Titans two weeks ago. They finally made their decision Thursday night.

The Rams will now likely have Goff sitting at the top of the depth chart, which will allow them to possibly trade Nick Foles to build their roster for the future.

As for Jared Goff, he should have a pretty good career ahead of him after setting multiple records during his time with the Golden Bears. He threw for over 12,000 yards and 96 touchdowns in his career with the team.
