ESPN has lost both broadcaster Mike Tirico and sports columnist/commentator Skip Bayless in a matter of just a week. Tirico will be joining NBC upon his departure, while Bayless will find a home at FOX.
And honestly, we really can’t blame Bayless for his leaving his place with Stephen A. Smith at “First Take” after seeing the exorbitant salary that FOX Sports has offered him. Bayless will like join the network FOX Sports 1 network headed by Jamie Horowitz along with Colin Cowherd, Clay Travis and Jason Whitlock. Per Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch, FOX will be paying Bayless more than just a pretty penny to join the network.
Deitsch took to Twitter about the offer on Thursday:
Good source at ESPN tells me Bayless is looking at $5 million or so per year with Fox. (Related: Enjoy your day.)

It’s evident that FOX thinks quite highly of Bayless, but critics are saying the offer is just as controversial as Bayless himself. At ESPN, Will Cain or Max Kellerman is expected to take the place of the recently departed Bayless.
