2016 NFL Draft: Shon Coleman in for a slide?

In the 2016 NFL Draft, we’ve seen a lot of unexpected moves. We’ve also seen a number of players selected long after they were expected to be, and those who we were certain would be first rounders fall to a later round.

Per TFY Draft Insider’s Tony Pauline, Auburn’s Shon Coleman could be one of these players. Coleman is expected to possibly slide into the third round, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of talent he possesses.

It does, though, have everything to do with a knee injury the tackle sustained in his 2015 season as an Auburn Tiger. Coleman underwent surgery for the issue at the end of his final college season.

Pauline believes this is the sole reason why teams are shying away from him. He wrote, “While [Coleman] has first-round skills, I’m told the knee injury, which slowed him during the run-up to the draft, has been red-flagged by a number of teams.”

A lot of predictions have been shattered during the 2016 draft though, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Coleman picked in either round.
