Seven LSU Tigers expected to go in first round of 2017 NFL Draft

The LSU Tigers only have a handful of players in the 2016 NFL Draft, which means they are loaded going into the 2016 college football season. However, a good number of those players are eligible for the 2017 NFL Draft and right now, many of them will be heading there.

Walter Football released its latest mock draft for the 2017 NFL Draft and there are currently seven LSU Tigers projected to go in the first round, a number that would break the Miami Hurricanes record six in 2004. Heisman Trophy contender running back Leonard Fournette is expected to go sixth overall to the New Orleans Saints.

The seven Tigers expected to be selected in the first round of next year’s draft are as follows:

Leonard Fournette, RB, New Orleans Saints (6)
Jamal Adams, S, Atlanta Falcons (7)
Tre’Davious White, CB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13)
Ethan Pocic, C/G, Washington Redskins (15)
Lewis Neal DE/OLB, Baltimore Ravens (18)
Malachi Dupre, WR, Dallas Cowboys (22)
Davon Godchaux, DE, Pittsburgh Steelers (31)

You can view the full mock draft here.

With a roster this talent-laden, you can expect the Tigers to compete going into the 2016 season.
