Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh appeared on NFL Network today and said he was “disappointed” about former Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil, who saw his stock tumble after video surfaced of him smoking marijuana out of a gas mask bong just minutes before the draft started on Thursday night.
Harbaugh stated that though Baltimore always had eventual first-round pick and Notre Dame offensive lineman Ronnie Stanley at the top of its draft board, Tunsil stayed there until selected by the Miami Dolphins at No. 13, putting to rest any ideas that he would have been the team’s first-round pick regardless of the video.
“We were disappointed for him,” Harbaugh said. “You know, it’s not something you’d like to see. It’s tough, but that’s life. There’s consequences for actions, choices and decisions no matter when it happens. Laremy is going to be fine.”
Hopefully, Harbaugh is right. Tunsil was considered a near-lock to be the No. 1 overall pick this month until the Tennessee Titans traded the selection to the Los Angeles Rams, and his tumble proved to be quite costly from a money standpoint.
Hopefully, though that video surfaced due to his account getting hacked, he can get his head screwed on straight and become the top player everyone knows he can be.
