5-star WR Demetris Robertson commits to Cal over Notre Dame, Georgia

Class of 2016 five-star wide receiver Demetris Robertson has finally picked where he will be attending school next year, committing to the Cal Golden Bears over Notre Dame and Georgia. Robertson’s decision was confirmed via a tweet by Cal coach Sonny Dykes, and he also released an official statement.

“I am excited to take my talents to the University of California, Berkeley,” Robertson said in his statement. “The first reason is that the education was a big part of my decision. I wanted to keep that foundation. When I went there, it felt like home. Me and the coaching staff have a great relationship. That’s where I felt were the best of all things for me.”

Dykes released a statement of his own, in which he sung the Savannah Christian Prep star’s praises about both his work on the field and desire to succeed in the classroom. Cal is going to be challenged in 2016 now that star quarterback Jared Goff has been drafted into the NFL, but having a unique talent in Robertson on the roster should help ease the transition for sure.
