Paige VanZant no longer part of UFC 200 plans

UFC strawweight Paige VanZant is one of the best women in her weight class, but she has taken some time away from the Octagon for a stint on season 22 of the ABC hit show “Dancing With The Stars.”

During her time on the show, VanZant has been one of the top performers and she appears poised to appear in the finale.

Initially, VanZant had hopes of competing on the UFC 200 card which takes place on July 9 at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. However, her involvement in the show has kept her from properly training, so her manager Mike Roberts said she will no longer target a return at UFC 200.

“After thinking about it, the show is taking up a lot of her time,” Roberts said, via “She wants to have time to improve and get better, so we decided to postpone her return to about late-August.”

In VanZant’s most recent Octagon appearance, she fell to top contender Rose Namajunas. Despite the loss, VanZant holds a pro mixed martial arts record of 6-2.

Whenever she decides to return to the cage, it’s safe to say she will have an entirely new legion of fans seeing if she can put together performances inside of the Octagon as stunning and impressive as those on the dance floor.
