Video: 100-year-old woman sets 100-meter dash record, celebrates with pushups

If you need a hero this week, look no further than Ida Keeling, a 100-year-old woman who is dominating her competition on the track. Seriously.

Over the weekend, Keeling participated in the the 100-meter dash at Penn Relays in Philadelphia. Keeling’s group featured competitors ages 80 and up and she finished the race in 1 minute and 17.33 seconds.

That time is enough to give Keeling the new world record for a 100 year old running the 100-meter.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, Keeling went on to celebrate her world record run by doing some push-ups for the camera. I think Ida Keeling may be in better shape than me. One thing is for sure, though. We should all strive to stay as active and healthy as Keeling later in life.
