Giants call Paul Perkins a ‘complete back’

The one issue the New York Giants knew they needed to address in the 2016 NFL Draft was the running back position. They thought that David Wilson was the answer, but his career ended early due to a neck injury, leading them to draft Paul Perkins in the fifth round this year.

However, they certainly seem to believe in Perkins and feel like he could have been a steal for them in the fifth round. The team recently spoke to the New York Daily News and they tabbed the former UCLA Bruin as a “complete back.”

Perkins seems to be pretty confident in his abilities as well saying that he thinks they can use him in just about every aspect of their offense.

“I think I can be utilized in the passing game,” he said. “I just need a team to utilize me like that and I feel like the Giants will use me to my full capabilities.”

During his career at UCLA, Paul Perkins recorded nearly 3,500 yards on the ground with 29 touchdowns. He also recorded 739 yards and three touchdowns on 80 receptions.
