Joe Paterno’s son defends him in passionate Facebook post

Legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno has been gone for over four years now, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t going to bring up old scandals. The most recent one that involved his name came out Thursday night as it said that Paterno actually knew of former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky’s inappropriate behavior with children in the late 1970s.

Of course, that behavior landed Sandusky in prison for essentially the rest of his life and led to Paterno’s eventual forced retirement from Penn State.

Paterno’s son, Jay, who was last the quarterbacks coach at Penn State, took to Facebook to write an emotional post defending his father, which NBC Sports’ Kevin McGuire shared in full on Twitter.

Sadly, Joe Paterno’s name is likely going to be involved in this scandal for years to come.
