Missouri softball issues statement regarding ‘unsubstantiated investigation of program’

The Missouri softball team is on a roll, but prior to today’s game against South Carolina the program released a statement saying the game was being played under protest of athletic director Mack Rhodes.

According to the statement, Rhodes has launched an “unsubstantiated investigation of the program.”

There is no word on what the investigation pertains to, but there is clearly something brewing in Columbia. This is just the latest issue to surface regarding Missouri athletics in recent months, so it should not be long until we learn more about the alleged investigation.

As far as the Missouri softball program goes, the team is looking to haul off its tenth straight win today and improve on the No. 14 ranking in the nation.
