Clemson Tigers wide receiver Deon Cain has been suspended since failing a drug test prior to the start of last season’s College Football Playoff. Cain was immediately suspended and missed the team’s two playoff games, along with spring ball.
However, while speaking at ACC coaches spring meetings, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said Cain will be ready to go for the beginning of the season.
According to Swinney, Cain “has served his time.”

Swinney went on to state he believes Cain will excel on the field if he can stay out of trouble away from football.
“I really don’t need to see him run a comeback, to be honest with you,” Swinney said, via College Football Talk. “I am not worried about the football side of Deon Cain. The football side of Deon Cain is going to be special if I can get him dialed in on other things that really are more important.”
We will have to see what kind of impact Cain makes when he returns to the team.
Clemson will kickoff its 2016 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3 against the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
