Auburn QB John Franklin III works out with Michael Vick

If you are a dual-threat quarterback looking to make it in the world of college football, you could probably learn a thing or two from former Virginia Tech and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick. That is exactly what Auburn’s John Franklin III did on Wednesday.

Franklin is competing with Sean White and Jeremy Johnson for the starting job this fall and he is hard at work for that job this summer. He met up with Vick on Wednesday and they worked out together, which Franklin documented on Twitter.

Franklin joined the Tigers in January after transferring in from a junior college, which Auburn fans should immediately turn an eye to after the last junior college quarterback won the Heisman Trophy and took them to the national championship. He was immediately thrown into the competition for the starting position.

Having a dual-threat guy like John Franklin may be good for the Tigers, especially if his reported 40 time ends up being legitimate. Last month, he shared a picture of a stopwatch that showed he had ran a sub-4.3 in the 40-yard dash.

Yeah, I think the Tigers are going to be pretty happy with a guy like Franklin on the field. All he has to do now is win the starting job.
