The Auburn Tigers and head coach Gus Malzahn announced earlier this week that quarterback Tyler Queen underwent surgery by Dr. James Andrews to repair his right AC joint.
Immediately after the surgery, there was no word on when the redshirt freshman could return.
On Thursday, Malzahn provided an update on his reserve signal-caller.
“I expect him to recover fully and hopefully be back by fall camp,” said Malzahn, via SEC Country.
Currently, Jeremy Johnson, Sean White and John Franklin III are all listed ahead of Queen on the depth chart. Johnson, White and Franklin are all competing for the starting job.
So even if Queen is healthy enough to suit up by the start of the season, it is unlikely he will see any significant playing time.
